“By the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed” (Lumen Gentium 11).
In Confirmation, by anointing with Sacred Chrism and praying over with the laying on of hands, the baptized receive a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Youth Confirmation
Baptized youth receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during their eighth-grade year of school. Sign your children up for the children’s religious education program for confirmation preparation.
Adult Confirmation
Adults seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation receive formation with the OCIA program. This includes those who have already been Baptized and received Communion, as well as those seeking to join the Catholic Faith.
