This concert on the cathedral’s historic E.M. Skinner organ will include works by Gordon Jacob, J. Ernst/J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn, Widor, and a trib-ute to Veteran’s Day with settings based on American hymn tunes.

Having established an international performing career, this American violinist has garnered accolades on four continents  for this performances combining visceral virtuosity and ravishing tone. Sords has been the recipient of numerous awards and has performed as a soloist with over 300 orchestras.

This concert is presented in memory of Joseph Lawton by his family

Simon Johnson is one of the most versatile musicians of his generation, successfully combing life a as virtuoso organist with extensive work in choral direction and composition. As Organist and Assistant Director of Music at  St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, he has been involved in all the national occasions that have taken place there since 2008. Mr. Johnson has performed concerts throughout Europe and the United States,  as well as many of the premier venues in the United Kingdom, including the Royal Festival Hall.
